What the Guide Offers
The reason jobs on yachts are rarely advertised is due to the privacy and safety concerns of yacht owners.  But once
you know how to get a job on a yacht it is really a straight forward affair.
Entry-level positions do not require
previous boating experience and there are always entry-level opportunities in yachting for versatile
individuals between the ages of 18 and 25 who are available to travel. Being a yachtie is a unique
opportunity and I can promise you it is not like any other job. Working on a yacht often provides an
exclusive and exciting work environment that provides many positive rewards.  Most entry-level positions
start out at $35,000 with free room and board.  Working on yachts is the perfect way to travel the world
and save money at the same time.
Besides entry-level positions there are also opportunities for those who have worked on tour
boats,  cruise ships, or have specialized training as a chef, marine engineer, nurse or massage
therapist.
The Yachtie Guide is a great source for explaining how to apply your previous training
and expertise to the yachting industry.  Working on yachts is also a wonderful opportunity for
recent college graduates or those with hospitality experience!

THE WEALTH REPORT - THE WALL STREET JOURNAL June 20, 2008
…the biggest constraint to the industry’s growth isn’t the
economy — it’s staffing. The report says that about 25,000
crewmembers are necessary for today’s fleet of superyachts, but
only about 15,000 currently work aboard yachts.
